Congratulations to Johnny Y and Cyan G
for their world class performance in
MathLeague’s 2023 WORLDWIDE INTERNATIONAL
Championship in Bali, Indonesia.

Johnny - 2nd place for 10th grade WORLDWIDE!
Cyan - 3rd place for 10th grade WORLDWIDE!
The BTN team (Cyan and Johnny)
scored 90 out of 100 in the team test,
and ranked 2nd in both Team and Relay rounds
beating out Uzbekistan and China.

outstanding performance in the national championship!

In late March, Quentin H placed 2nd out of all middle schoolers
in the Arizona Mathcounts competition.
He earned a spot on the 4 member AZ mathcounts team
as well as an all expenses paid trip to Orlando
to compete in the national competition.
He did a great job with representing Arizona
and meeting talented mathematicians from every state.



Congratulations to three BTN students in
Math League’s 2023 AZ Elementary State Championship in Phoenix.
Trophies are awarded to the top six students of each grade.
Nikola - 5th place for 5th grade (Left)
Miles - 2nd place for 6th grade (Center)
Rita - 4th place for 6th grade (Right)
Math League’s elementary competitions are for grades 3-6.
Students compete in several qualifying rounds from
October to March of each school year.
Then they must compete and place in the top 10 at
district championship to qualify for state championship.
Finally, top 10 students of each grade in each state compete in
Math League’s National Championship in Texas in June.

Good luck to Miles, Rita, and Nikola at
Math League’s Elementary National Championship!

We continue to meet for Volleyball on Sunday mornings at Randolph.
I encourage parents of high school teams to

so we can group chat to organize practice sessions.

Cyan beat out a 12th grader
from UHS who came 1st in 12th grade.
Big Thanks to Dr. Jeff Wu for taking
the kids to Phoenix and sponsoring them.


Special Shoutout to Rimma
who has volunteered for Hot Lunch nearly
every single day. Saved our necks many times.


CONGRATS to BTN Boys Volleybal team in
Playoffs against Veritas
Veritas had previously crushed BTN
in 3 straight games.
BTN had a nailbiting victory
on April 19th in 5 games

for helping out at the LS dance.
Also, shout out to the Late Bird students
and Tesla Lukow for helping out with decorations.
We made nearly $5k!!

The BAM Scholarship was created to enable Black and African American students to attend college and pursue a career in technology. The goal is to empower future generations to do and be more.
